lightningcausesmadness asked: i'm a little behind on this whole lindsey/joel situation. I was around when it was all going down, but I never paid that much attention to it. would you mind giving me a short rundown on what she did that was so bad? nobody seems to want to talk about it. you can answer this on private if you'd like, I just feel a little left out on what the hell everybody is talking about.

She never did anything ‘bad’ against him, really from my understanding of what happened was they decided to end their relationship because of their different careers/lifestyles/places that they reside in/etc. It was never because she cheated or anything like that. Lindsey approached Joel in the first place. The reason why people are so upset about it is because of how Joel reacted to the break up. He was very depressed. Very down. Very sickly. And just all around wasn’t taking care of himself at all. He took up smoking again and even neglected his music a little. He just seemed so washed away and lost with what to do with himself when they broke up, but recently he showed up with her at the Grammy’s. And just last night, she stayed at his new house. He spent a majority of the night taking tasteful photos of her in her underwear (nothing particularly scandalous, more artistic if anything), and posted them all to his facebook page. She is assumed to still be there now, and Joel has been posting VERY positive things on his twitter/facebook page. He just went to a personal trainer, and is going to attempt quitting smoking again. All rumored to be because Lindsey is once again back in his life as his girlfriend. Nothing is ‘official’. But they are at least spending quite a bit of time together. And Lindsey has been posting sweet little tweets about him and Meowingtons on her twitter. So who knows, if they are back together and happy, that’s wonderful, because Joel has done a complete 180 in terms of his attitude. But if they aren’t together…and she’s just around to act as a playmate (no pun intended) then she really needs to stop. It won’t be healthy for Joel to get used to her again. I realize she was a huge source of happiness in his life, but if she can’t commit, if he can’t commit, then they need to end it and not string each other along. It’ll just make it harder in the long run. That’s why everyone is so upset. They don’t want to see Joel go through such a rough patch for a second time over the same girl. Even if she doesn’t mean to hurt him, none of us want to see that.
